Pangkalpinang [09/10/25] – Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi IBEK Pangkalpinang successfully hosted Global Talks; “Connecting Islands”, an international discussion forum designed to connect students with global perspectives on ethics, culture, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic development.
The event featured distinguished international speakers including William Hamby from the United States presenting Ethics and Global Logistics, Richard discussing Tourism and Sustainable Economy, and Milo delivering insights on Cultural Harmony in Business.
During the session, students were encouraged to understand the importance of integrity, ethics, and cultural wisdom in modern entrepreneurship. From the United States perspective, participants learned that moral values and ethical business practices are fundamental pillars in building trustworthy and sustainable enterprises.
The discussion from Vanuatu emphasized the importance of honoring parents and receiving their blessings as a meaningful beginning of an entrepreneurial journey, reflecting the strong relationship between cultural values and responsible leadership.
Meanwhile, the Samoan principles of Unity, Respect, and Sacrifice were introduced as essential foundations for maintaining harmony in business and community life.
Through this international forum, STIE IBEK Pangkalpinang reaffirmed its commitment to providing globally oriented education that integrates academic excellence, ethical leadership, cultural understanding, and sustainable entrepreneurship.
